Nottingham Forest Sack Ange Postecoglou After Winless Start
2025-10-18

Nottingham Forest have announced the dismissal of manager **Ange Postecoglou following a poor run of form that saw him fail to win any of his eight matches in charge.
The decision came shortly after Forest’s 3–0 home defeat to Chelsea, which extended their winless streak under the Australian coach. Postecoglou had taken over earlier this season following the departure of Nuno Espírito Santo.
In a brief statement released just 20 minutes after the final whistle, the club confirmed his exit:
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.
The club will make no further comment at this time.”
Postecoglou’s short tenure at the City Ground yielded six defeats and two draws, including an early Carabao Cup exit to Championship side Swansea City, where Forest squandered a 2–1 lead in stoppage time to lose 3–2.
His only points came from draws against Burnley in the Premier League and Real Betis in the Europa League.
