Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that club captain Marc Guehi will leave the Eagles at the end of the season after turning down a new contract offer.

The 25-year-old defender, whose current deal expires next summer, reportedly came close to joining Liverpool on transfer deadline day. However, Palace opted to keep him after failing to secure a suitable replacement.

Speaking on Friday, Glasner revealed that Guehi has made his intentions clear and will move on once his contract ends.

“I think Marc has already told us that he won’t sign a new contract, so he will leave next year,” Glasner said.
“The club wanted him to stay — they offered Marc a new deal but he said, ‘No, I want to do something different.’ And that’s normal.

The Austrian coach added that discussions are ongoing within the club about how best to handle the situation in the coming months.

“Now, it’s about how we deal with this situation and what’s the best way to take the next step. We’re talking together about that.”

Guehi, who has been a key figure for Palace since joining from Chelsea in 2021, is expected to attract interest from several top clubs in England and abroad ahead of his summer departure.
